Bromyard Rugby Junior Section are busy back training after the summer break, ready for matches starting in October through to May. We are a successful family club with a strong and growing mini and junior section but are always looking to welcome new players in each age group and volunteers.

Our youth rugby is run by fantastic parents and volunteers, mini rugby from U7s is a great way to have fun while developing skills. The club is RFU accredited and aims to provide a safe environment for boys and girls of all abilities and introduce the core values of rugby; teamwork, discipline, respect, sportsmanship and enjoyment. All age groups from U7s through to U17s and girls team begin their sessions at 10am on a Sunday and finish between 11 and 12 noon (dependent upon age group), there is mid-week training sessions for youth players aged 12 and upwards. Through the cold winter months we are lucky to have Dave Hounsell providing hot drinks and breakfasts for our spectators every weekend and after matches the players get the ever popular sausage and chips in the clubhouse.

We have many success stories about the club giving the players something of real value, the girls’ tag team won the West Midlands Tag League last season and are aiming high again this year. Girls participation in rugby is growing and we are in the infancy of girls contact teams at U13s and U15. The club’s season has culminated for the last five years with a tour to North Devon playing in the West Coast Festival of Rugby a fantastic opportunity for players, coaches and parents to meet new teams and make lasting memories, last season we took over 250 players and spectators to Barnstaple!

The club has good links with local schools; this includes supporting rugby coaching where practicable and holding festivals for the local primary schools.During the summer holiday a rugby camp is put on for three days with qualified coaches many who have represented their country, the camp is a fun environment to develop skills for the new season. We are also supported by Worcester Warrriors Community Coaches who hold training sessions throughout the season.

As a club we hope that through the spirit of friendship our young players can gain an understanding that you can learn from both winning and losing and where winning matches is neither the sole nor most important measure of success.

Bromyard RFC is indebted to our generous sponsors, without their support the club would not be so successful. We have recently been fortunate to be granted the Coop Community Fund which will help us improve the facilities at the club and St Peters Masonic Lodge kindly donated funds towards new equipment for the junior section. Bromyard and Winslow Town Council provided the initial grant helping equip the girls team with a kit.

The entire club is run by our amazing volunteers, there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer to coach, administer, officiate, fundraise, be a first aider etc, and if you are interested in becoming involved please contact the Club Officers, contact details below.

The Senior section put out two teams, they had a successful season last year winning the league and promoted to Midlands 3 West, upcoming games are Dunlop 14th October and away for a local derby at Ledbury on 21st October, kick off 3pm.
